Post 8: English Language Challenges

Hello!  My relationship with English has never been very good, sometimes I get frustrated for not being able to handle the language fairly well since many times I relate to the language. I thought that when I entered the university I would not have English classes, but I was wrong! This is my second semester studying English, and I also have one more for next semester. My experience learning the language at the university has not been as I expected ... I thought that the level of demand would be much higher, a factor that complicated me because of the other fields I had in the semester. Unfortunately I have not been able to dedicate much time to studying the language since my times are very limited, in addition, my priority in studies are the other branches, since they are more demanding than the English branch. Regarding blogging, I have done them all! And I quite like this activity because the topics are very interesting to think about and write. In addition to sharing our wr

Post 7: CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

Imagen
In these uncertain times I have realized that the chances of things changing are very high. For this reason, I must think about the possible programs in my study program: First of all, there may be changes in the subjects to study, since if the university continues online, there will be subjects that I will not be able to study, since the programs of the Subjects should be accommodated and shortened according to the context. Secondly, no one knows if in some future my career becomes complicated and I fail a branch, so instead of finishing my degree in 5 years, I could finish it in 6, or 7 or 8 hahhaha. Another important point is the changes that may occur in the infrastructure of the faculty, which always seems to me to be a point in favor, since they will seek to improve student learning. On the other hand, with respect to the fact that technology is being used more and more in educational settings, it is important to consider the idea of studying online. Personally, for

Post 6: Postgraduate Studies.

Searching for alternatives for my future, I did a quick search in the webpage of the University of Chile.  In that surfing, I found several interesting postgraduate courses and activities that caught my attention. The one that interested me a lot and I would like attend once I finish my undergraduate was the "Postgraduate Diploma in Therapeutic and Preventive Interventions in Sexual Assault". The main reason why I would like to study this diploma is that it likely will provide me the tools needed to perform in the field of sexual assaults, at the individual level (aimed at the victims), systemic (aimed at the families) and psychosocial (aimed at the community) The main topics that I would like to learn more deeply is the integrative understanding of the phenomenon of sexual violence, since it would provide me the basic theory or framework to work in this area. Another topic that called my attention was "psychotherapeutic interventions with victims of sexual assaults&

Post 5: My future job

I have always liked working in groups. In school I used to share knowledge and now in college something similar happens. Therefore, I imagine myself working with many people, having to share every day with different positions and thoughts.  My ideal job is not office work, but I wouldn't mind working in an office if I enjoy my work. If I had a choice, I would like an outdoor job, but I don't see it possible in this area. When I finish college I would like to work for a while in public healthcare, which is very precarious in treatment and mental health professionals. After that I would like to work as a teacher at the university, hopefully for psychology or pedagogy students. Along with these jobs I would like to do courses or volunteer in other areas that I like, such as veterinary medicine or nail art.  My idea for now is to study and work here in Chile, maybe taking trips to study abroad but only for a short period of time. I am very attached to my family hahaha. Unfortunate

Post 4: What's like to study Psychology?

Hello everybody! Today I come to talk about my studies… I am currently studying the second year of psychology career at the University of Chile. During my high school I was finding out what careers I could study after leaving school and I always had in mind choosing between psychology and veterinary medicine ... I ended up choosing Psychology since the processes that occur in the minds of animals, especially humans, have always caught my attention. In this sense, in my life plans it is that at some point I would love be part of an organization as a volunteer to contribute to animal welfare. Unfortunately, the year I started studying, the pandemic began, causing a strong change in our lives. At first, I didn't like the idea of studying online at all, so I was sad for a couple of weeks. After interacting with my classmates a couple of times, my motivation returned. Studying psychology online is complicated, but not impossible. Fortunately for me it has not been diffic

During the pandemic, we have experienced many changes to which we have had to adapt over time. Clearly an important problem that has been experienced worldwide is the death of many people caused by this virus, in addition to collapsed hospitals and people who do not have enough resources to live through this moment in a good way. Luckily, nothing terrible has happened to the people I love, but there is always fear. Because of that I have not had major personal problems, just a little anxiety and boredom. During confinement, I decided to learn how to make false nails and paint them in new ways. This practice has been very important in keeping me busy with something other than college. This pandemic has made us grow, we will come out of this confinement with fear, but also wanting to enjoy everything that we could not do for several months ... My plans after the pandemic is over are to get together with friends, family and colleagues!!! Besides this I would like to learn to dance “salsa”

Post 2: The best holidays ever

It is difficult for me to choose the best vacations, since each one of them has enriched me in some way. But one of the vacations that I have enjoyed the most was the summer of 2018, I went on vacation with my family from Santiago to Lake Caburgua, located in the south of Chile. As is customary for as long as I can remember, in this place we met with all my maternal family to spend 15 days together. During these vacations I visited beautiful natural places, such as the “eyes of the Caburgua”, “El Salto del León”, Lake Caburgua, among several lagoons little intervened by humans. After this family trip I returned to my house in Santiago and with my boyfriend we went to Viña del Mar to see his grandparents. We enjoyed the beach, long conversations with his grandparents and very delicious food. These have been my best vacations since I appreciate the variety of landscapes that I visited, on one hand, the nature of the south of the country, with its diverse climate, going through heavy rai
