Post 8: English Language Challenges


Hello!

 My relationship with English has never been very good, sometimes I get frustrated for not being able to handle the language fairly well since many times I relate to the language. I thought that when I entered the university I would not have English classes, but I was wrong! This is my second semester studying English, and I also have one more for next semester.

My experience learning the language at the university has not been as I expected ... I thought that the level of demand would be much higher, a factor that complicated me because of the other fields I had in the semester.

Unfortunately I have not been able to dedicate much time to studying the language since my times are very limited, in addition, my priority in studies are the other branches, since they are more demanding than the English branch.

Regarding blogging, I have done them all! And I quite like this activity because the topics are very interesting to think about and write. In addition to sharing our writings with my colleagues and commenting 😊.

Regarding the aspects of my English that I must improve are: patience, perseverance and self-confidence. When I study English, I don't have a lot of patience, since, although I use a certain vocabulary, it is not enough for me in my day-to-day life. I need to be constant with the study of the language, because if I study once every three months, I forget everything I learned ☹

Post 1: Country would i like to visit

The country that I have always been interested in visiting is Ecuador, for its great variety of flora and fauna as well as the humid tropical climate which I love. To be honest, I am not very cultured about this country, some of the few things I know are that it is located in South America and that it has one of the greatest biodiversity in the world. Because of that, they take protect and take good care of nature. If I had the opportunity to go to Ecuador, I would visit the national parks and do all kinds of activities relating to nature. I would go to places with less human intervention to appreciate the fauna and flora in the most natural way possible. I couldn't say if I would like to live in Ecuador because I don't know how their system works around people's basic needs. For now I could not go to live abroad since I am very close to my family and friends and it would be difficult for me to separate from them.

Post 6: Postgraduate Studies.

  Searching for alternatives for my future, I did a quick search in the webpage of the University of Chile.  In that surfing, I found several interesting postgraduate courses and activities that caught my attention. The one that interested me a lot and I would like attend once I finish my undergraduate was the "Postgraduate Diploma in Therapeutic and Preventive Interventions in Sexual Assault". The main reason why I would like to study this diploma is that it likely will provide me the tools needed to perform in the field of sexual assaults, at the individual level (aimed at the victims), systemic (aimed at the families) and psychosocial (aimed at the community) The main topics that I would like to learn more deeply is the integrative understanding of the phenomenon of sexual violence, since it would provide me the basic theory or framework to work in this area. Post 4: What's like to study Psychology?

    Hello everybody! Today I come to talk about my studies… I am currently studying the second year of psychology career at the University of Chile. During my high school I was finding out what careers I could study after leaving school and I always had in mind choosing between psychology and veterinary medicine ... I ended up choosing Psychology since the processes that occur in the minds of animals, especially humans, have always caught my attention. In this sense, in my life plans it is that at some point I would love be part of an organization as a volunteer to contribute to animal welfare. Unfortunately, the year I started studying, the pandemic began, causing a strong change in our lives. At first, I didn't like the idea of studying online at all, so I was sad for a couple of weeks.
